Stratford has transformed over the past few years and continues to do so. Being brought into the spotlight during the London 2012 Olympics, quite rapidly Stratford started to evolve into a new hotspot of East London. With your shopping needs covered by Westfield Stratford City and the Stratford Centre, there are also a number of restaurants, bars and pubs unearthing throughout the area. The former Olympic venues are now open to the public, including the world’s longest tunnel slide featured in the ArcelorMittal Orbit. The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is perhaps one of the most loved and used attractions produced as a result of the Olympics. Filled with families enjoying the entertainment facilities, cyclists exploring the London trails, and couples taking a stroll to Hackney Riviera, this man-made utopia in the heart of Stratford City definitely evokes a sense of suburbia in this rapidly expanding metropolis. Stratford is made up of two concurrent and separate markets where resales are most commonly of period terraced houses in tree lined streets ranging from 400K to 700K. New build apartment blocks either side of the High Street leading to Bow and into Town contain flats with 1 and 2 bedrooms with similar prices. There is a mixture of young professionals looking to rent or to take the first step onto the property ladder and families making the most of the fantastic schooling and leisure facilities in the area. One of the draws to the area is the ever-improving transport links. Stratford station has wide ranging connectivity and work is well underway on what will become the Stratford gyratory allowing for even easier access to the A12, M11 and A406. The tube network now runs 24 hours over the weekend, making it even easier to get into Central London (which only takes 20 minutes). The bourgeoning number of bars, restaurants and leisure facilities cropping up in and around the area are continuing to add to this East London area an even more desirable place to live.
